カオリは工房のオーナーであるイギリス人のジェイゴさんにお願いして、建築中の別荘の入り口にオリジナルタイルを組み合わせた作品を作って頂くことにしました。 I asked Mr. Jago, the British owner of the studio, to make an original tile artwork. It will be placed at the entrance of a villa that is now under construction.

ジェイゴさんのタイルは独特の青味がとても素敵です。１００枚ほどのオリジナルタイルを焼いてもらい、それをコンクリートに埋め込んで作品を作成します。
カオリの描いたモチーフは、先日亡くなってしまった文鳥のチュンが、首を伸ばしてこちらの様子を伺っているところをデザイン化したものです。 His tiles have a special and beautiful blue color. He is making about 100 original tiles. They will be set into concrete to make the artwork.
The motif I drew shows my pet Java sparrow, Chun, who recently died, stretching her neck and looking at us with interest.

こちらはジェイゴさんと一緒に暮らしている犬のジョージです。
とても頭が良くてかわいいんです～。
ジョージ可愛いね。 This is George, the dog who lives with Mr. Jago.
He is very smart and very cute.

打ち合わせをするときは、自分のイメージしたデザインのスケッチ画と、実寸大の用紙に伸ばして描いたラフスケッチを用意していくと、イメージが的確に伝わります。
自分だけの素敵なタイル作品がある別荘なんて、何だか想像するだけでワクワクしませんか？
