阿Ｑ（Akyuu） Akyuu
今日は少し足を伸ばして、大田原市にある中華料理店「阿Ｑ」でランチをいただきました。
中華鍋から立ち上る真っ赤な炎が見える活気ある厨房と、ボリュームたっぷりの料理が人気のお店です。

Today I drove a little farther out to have lunch at “Akyuu,” a Chinese restaurant in Otawara City.
The open kitchen, where you can see bright red flames leaping from the woks, is full of energy, and the portions are impressively generous.
It’s the kind of place where you can truly fill both your stomach and your heart with delicious Chinese dishes.

今日は少し足を伸ばして、大田原にある「阿Ｑ」まで昼食を食べに来ました。
Today I took a slightly longer drive to have lunch at “Akyuu” in Otawara.
カオリが注文したのは皿うどん。
中華鍋から立ち上る真っ赤な炎がばんばん見える厨房から運ばれてきた皿うどんは、まさにお皿から溢れそうな感じでした。
「この量は何！？」。
しかも、注文してから出てくるまでの時間が早い。
I ordered sara-udon (crispy noodles with a thick sauce).
It came out of the kitchen where vivid red flames were leaping up from the wok, and the plate looked as if it might overflow at any moment.
“How much food is this!?” I couldn’t help thinking.
And yet, it arrived amazingly quickly after I ordered.
んぐんぐ。
美味しいー。
中華っぽい中華に満足。
Mmm… so good!
It’s satisfyingly “Chinese-style” Chinese food, in the best possible way.
２０分経過･･･。
「おかしい、減らない。もしかして増えてる！？」（そんな訳ない）。
After about 20 minutes…
“This is strange, it doesn’t seem to be getting any less. Is it actually increasing?!” (Of course, that can’t really happen.)
ふぃー。
本当にお腹一杯になりました。
みんな、平気な顔して、あの大容量を食しているのが不思議な感じでした。
女性なら、二人で一皿でも十分かも知れませんねー。
Phew… I was really full in the end.
I was amazed to see other customers polishing off those huge portions with such ease.
For women, I think one plate might be more than enough to share between two people.

とにかく量が多い（大盛り）です。
たくさん食べてやるぜーという人にはうってつけだと思いますが、普通の人は、目の前にお皿が出てきた段階で、「うっ、コレは、お主なかなか出来るな」と思う筈です。
その量の多さは、テレビでも何回か取り上げられて放映されているようです。
何人かで行って、何皿か注文して、皆で取り分けて食べるというのが、たぶん正解です。
でもそれだと、とってもお安く済んじゃいます(^ ^)。
旺盛なサービス精神が感じられて、好感が持てるお店です。
The portions here are truly huge—definitely “large size.”
If you’re the type who loves to eat a lot, this place is perfect for you; but for most people, when the plate arrives they’ll probably think, “Wow, this restaurant really means business!”
The generous portions have even been featured on TV several times.
The best strategy is probably to go with a group, order a few different dishes, and share them.
That way it ends up being very reasonably priced, too (^ ^).
You can really feel the owner’s strong spirit of hospitality, which makes the restaurant all the more likable.
