Kamikawa no Sato

Kamikawa no Sato exterior
Hello, I am Kaori.
After swimming at the Nasu Swimming Dome, I really wanted to eat soba,
so I visited a soba restaurant I had been curious about: "Kamikawa no Sato".

This restaurant is especially known for its thin, white soba called "Shirayuki".

After playing in the pool at the Nasu Swimming Dome, I really wanted to eat soba,
so I finally visited this soba restaurant I had wanted to try.

I ordered the recommended three-color soba set.
You can taste three kinds of soba: Inaka soba, Shirayuki, and Seiro. Each type uses a different milling and kneading method.
It feels like a soba tasting, similar to a sake tasting.

Of the three kinds, my favorite was "Shirayuki",
a very thin, white soba noodle.

The texture and flavor were very good.
The restaurant uses domestically grown buckwheat and grinds it with a stone mill on site.
All of the soba tastes good because of this care, but Shirayuki is a premium, pure-white soba made from the core of the buckwheat grain.

Even the soba-yu (the hot water used to cook the soba) tasted very good.
I would like to come back and eat here again.

(Kaori's Highlights)

The Shirayuki served here is one of the best Sarashina soba dishes I have ever eaten.
I like thin, white soba noodles, and this one is very good.
For Sarashina soba, it is not enough for the noodles to be only white.

Good soba should be thin and firm, with the right smoothness and aroma.
The soba here meets all these conditions, and I already want to visit again.
Please note that Shirayuki is available only in limited amounts each day,
so if you want to be sure to eat it, I recommend coming when the restaurant opens.
