I visited the Kazuo Iwamura Picture-Book Hill Museum.
The museum recreates the satoyama (countryside) scenery from the picture books, and the whole hill where the building stands is one large “picture-book hill.”

I visited the Kazuo Iwamura Picture-Book Hill Museum.

Inside the museum, you can see original drawings from Kazuo Iwamura’s picture books and many editions published around the world.
As a Japanese person, I feel very proud that picture books from Japan are loved worldwide.

You can also buy picture books signed by Kazuo Iwamura.

If you are lucky, you might see a flying squirrel.
