Hello, I am Kaori from “Nasu Sightseeing Virtual Tours”. I love Nasu and I want to share its attractions with many people. I have run this site as my personal hobby since 2001. The site supports 16 languages, including Japanese, so visitors from other countries can learn about Nasu.
▼ Why I started this site and the charm of Nasu

The sightseeing information on this site started from my experiences when I built a villa in Nasu. I had to visit Nasu many times for meetings and enjoyed sightseeing each time.
Spending time in Nasu has become an essential part of my life.

What makes Nasu attractive?
Nasu has rich nature and many hot springs. There are many sightseeing facilities, such as shops, ski resorts, golf courses, and museums.
Another big attraction is easy access from Tokyo: about two hours by car, or only one hour by Shinkansen.
Nasu also has a long history, with stone monuments, ancient tombs, temples, shrines, and sites of Meiji-era development to visit carefully.

However, Nasu is not the only place near Tokyo with rich nature. There are other similar resort areas. The reason why I love Nasu, visit it often, make this website, and even built a villa here is a deeper charm. It is the warm hearts of the people in Nasu.

I first visited Nasu in autumn of my first year at university. My friends and I took a ropeway to see the autumn leaves. A local person who happened to be there spoke to us and said, “The leaves are beautiful this year, aren’t they?”
We enjoyed talking together, and we decided to come back to Nasu in spring because the fresh green leaves would also be beautiful. The next spring, we became repeat visitors.

In Nasu, people easily recommend other shops. For example, if I ask in a shop, “Is there a café nearby?”, they kindly say, “For ice cream, that shop is good; for coffee, this shop is good.”
In restaurants, staff members often say, “This is homemade,” and talk with customers. Sometimes I hear, “We plan to add this new dish next year.”
Such warm communication happens everywhere in Nasu. I think the hospitality and high level of service of each person in Nasu is a great charm of the area.

One reason why Nasu offers top-level service in Japan is the presence of the villa of the Japanese royal family.
Every summer, the royal family enjoys their vacation in Nasu. During their stay, they visit many sightseeing facilities in Nasu. Therefore, each facility is always ready to provide the highest level of service at any time.
Ordinary visitors to Nasu also receive the benefit of this and can enjoy excellent service.

I want many people to experience Nasu, which has so many attractions. So I decided to share the information I learned through many visits to Nasu on this website.
For all the information here, I actually went to the places myself, had the experiences, and wrote reports from my own point of view. To help you imagine what it is like inside each shop, I also post many photos, including my own face.
I want to tell you, with real and practical information, that if you come to Nasu, you will find many wonderful places and have a very good time.

I aim to make this website so that people who read it will want to visit Nasu.
I would be happy if my website is helpful, even a little, for visitors and for local people in Nasu.
