Classic sightseeing plan / Day 1

観光名所満喫プラン1
This plan focuses on classic sightseeing spots in Nasu. Because these are well-known attractions, you can enjoy rich scenery without spending too much. Let’s start the plan assuming you arrive by car at 10:30 AM after getting off at the Nasu Interchange, traveling as a group of four (two couples).

Stops on the route

ジョイア・ミーア
[1] Gioia Mia

Enjoy delicious pizza here. It’s very popular locally, so if you’re not careful you may get caught in big crowds. The recommended item is the wood-fired pizza with its perfectly crisp thin crust.

ロープウェイ
[2] Ropeway

Ride up to Mt. Chausu—one of Nasu’s icons. With the larger gondolas, lines are usually shorter, but parking is limited. If it’s crowded, parking near Dairamaru Onsen and walking may be a good option.

殺生石
[3] Sessho-seki

Visit the famous Sessho-seki. The area has many stone statues and can feel a little eerie, but each spot has notes on its origin. Reading them as you walk makes the history of Nasu feel even deeper.

鹿の湯
[4] Shika-no-Yu

Relax in the hot springs at Shika-no-Yu, located right in front of Sessho-seki. The sulfur-scented waters are popular for their strong benefits, and the rustic atmosphere is perfect for an onsen experience.

ホテルエピナール那須
[5] Hotel Epinard Nasu

Stay the night here. The staff are welcoming, and the open atmosphere makes it comfortable for groups. There’s also a large bath and a pool, so everyone can enjoy time together inside the hotel as well.
